News Flash!

My idiot sister has been found! She was AWOL for three days, having last been seen herding a group of about 80 reindeer into the wilderness 38 miles away from Nome, Alaska. There's been an all points bulletin out her ever since...with half the population of Nome treking out to the gravel road towards Teller, looking for that mutt sister of mine. She always DID cause more drama than anyone else would ever have the nerve to stir up!

Gabby is always has been a bit slow witted....when that prey drive of hers kicks in, she is stone deaf and doesn't have the sense of an acorn! Near as we can tell, she chased the reindeer herd for 50 or 60 miles before figuring out that maybe she ought to stop and take stock of the situation a bit more closely! By then, she was about a 100 miles from home!

She was found by a Nome resident who was out running her sled dog team. Gabby was trotting down the highway, headed straight for Nome...just 34 miles outside of Nome.

She is skinnier and was terribly thirsty and whines whenever her Spokesperson touches her swollen, hot foot pads...but, other than that, she is her same old obnoxious self! Of course she is MILKING it for all it is worth now...lying on the floor, wrapped around her Spokeswoman's feet...whining in "agony" whenever anyone makes the mistake of looking at her half-way sympathetically. Personally, I think they should have left her on the highway and made her trot the last 34 miles home!

She is just so inconsiderate! Leaving me to WORRY myself silly over her these last three days! She always has been so aggravating.

Mind you, she has gone AWOL three (THREE!) times this summer alone! And I've lost count on the number of times she has had brushes with the law up there. It's a wonder she hasn't been kicked out of Nome! Believe me, when I went up there to visit her last winter, I heard plenty of stories from the other dogs about her shananigans! But, then, she was always in trouble when she lived in the lower 48, too...so, it didn't much surprise me to hear that she has continued her delinquent ways up there, too.

When I first heard she had been found (at 11:14 tonight), I was grateful to all those sled dogs for rescuing her...but, the more I think about it, the more I am rethinking that whole sentiment!!!

My Sister...

I have some very sad news.  My litter-mate, Gabby, has been lost for three days now.  She was last seen herding about 80 reindeer 38 miles from Nome, Alaska.  Practically everyone in Nome has been trying to help find her, but there is a lot of wilderness out there and since it was nothing for her to run 50 or 60 miles in a day, there's no telling how far she went before deciding to cease herding those reindeer...and, unfortunately, she was already 38 miles out into the wilderness when she took up the chase.

We are just praying she finds her way back to Nome.  The weather is nice this time of year and there is plenty of wild-life around for her to subsist on while traveling back home...

My Show-off Sister!

Yup...Gabs is at it again...showing out as usual. Today she e-mailed me this picture of her on HER new four-wheeler up in Alaska. She says she gets to run all over town with it! She is such a show-off...just because HER Spokespeople love HER enough to buy HER her own four-wheeler! I knew I should have stayed with Lisa and Iran instead of coming to live with the Ninjas. I could be up in Alaska, right now, driving around on my own four-wheeler, too! So many decisions in life that one comes to regret...

And the DRAMA Begins!

Yup.... We all KNEW my sister Gabs would pull SOMETHING at the last moment to try and get out of going to Alaska...but, even I am shocked at the lengths she has gone to. Late last night she evidently bribed a snake into biting her on the face. She had her Spokesperson worried sick...staying up all through the night to make sure she was still breathing. Gabs, of course, milked it for all it was worth. She made hideous gurgling sounds as she swallowed, refused to drink any water, feigned confusion, and was uncharacteristically lethargic. She had her Spokeswoman near hysteria. Gab's eye nearly swelled shut and her entire face swelled up like a furry watermelon. She was a HIDEOUS sight.

However, she is back on the mend this morning. The swelling has gone down significantly and she is back to being her old neurotically hyperactive tail-chasing self.

Personally, I think she BRIBED that snake to bite her. That girl will do anything to try and get Vader or I to let her stay with us, instead of boarding that plane for Alaska. Vader TRIED a second time to let her stay with him, but she just wears him out. She blab blab blabs all day and all night. And she is constantly wanting to rough-house. I mean, rough-housing is great fun, but EVENTUALLY you have to stop and take a nap or something! Not Gabs...she never knows when to stop. I think she lacks the maturity gene.

Poor girl...I do feel sorry for her getting booted off to Alaska like that...but she brought it on herself. Her brother really DID consider REPEATEDLY letting her bunk up with him for the next two years, but she just couldn't behave herself. She is CONSTANTLY stirring up trouble. When she's around, she gets everyone else into all sorts of trouble. Worse, she has the habit of causing the trouble and then stepping back and letting her HOST or HOSTESS get stuck with all the blame! She is a master at leaving someone else holding the bag. She is GOOD...I'm tellin' ya! So, just let her disappear in Alaska where there isn't anyone around but HER to take the blame for the trouble she stirs up...that's what I say!

I really hope that poor snake is okay. I shudder to think what lengths Gabby might have gone to in order to purposely provoke him to bite her. Poor snake!

Since I don't have a picture of either the snake or Gabby's presently mis-shapen face, I had to do the best I could... from what I've heard, this picture is pretty close to what Gabby looks like about now:

Deceased, Departed...

THIS is how you play DEAD!!! Aren't I CONVINCING here? I decided to let Gabs play the role of Viscous Victor--trying to build her confidence up for when she has to face the roving gangs of murderous sled dogs (no offense, Khyra!) up in Alaska.

(My acting skills amaze even me! I couldn't have been more convincing, short of laying in a puddle of blood. Hmmm...THAT'S a good idea for next time... a puddle of blood and maybe a smattering of pig intestines...)

(Okay, Okay...don't get all grossed out! This is what comes of living in the house of a nurse...you should hear my Spokeswoman talking at the supper table...that would soften the shock of my ideas! Gabby's Spokeswoman is just as bad. Those nurses are all alike! And after you've lived around them for a while, they just start rubbing off on you!)

Mmmmm...pig intestine...I think I'll go dig up a snack!

A Quick Visit with Dad and Gabby!!!

It was a terrific weekend! I got in a short with visit my Dad and my sister, Gabby! Gabby and I are planning on going to see our brother, Vader, before Gabs heads up to Alaska. Boy, I'm going to miss ole Gabs!

This final picture is of my sister (Gabby) and I.

More Doom and Gloom:

I just got word from my incorrigible sister, Gabs, that she got thrown out of her brother's pad. Seems she got rambunctious and clobbered him. He's limping around with a sprained leg now and she has been thrown to the curb. His Spokespeople called the authorities and turned her in! It's back to house arrest at her Spokespeople's home up in Kansas City. The little weasle tried to smooth talk me into letting her hide out here. But, I'm not about to open up THAT Pandora's box. The last thing I need is to get arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive! I'm not a push-over like that brother of ours!

I knew when she made a break for it and came to the Ozarks to lay low, her escape would be short-lived. I know my sister. She has too much of our dad in her to keep her nose clean and stay out of trouble. Yup. She called here this morning sobbing and crying--a real water-works show (would have made the littlest Ninja proud!). She wanted to come to MY house...but, sometimes you just gotta show tough love...I mean it is bad enough having to share this backyard with that crazed little Border Collie and that over-sized, wimpy, delusional Newfoundland...having my bipolar sister here on top of everything else would have just been too much to ask of any reasonable dog. She made her bed, she's just gonna have to lie in it. I'm just amazed that she managed to make it several whole weeks before getting thrown out. Poor pathetic Gabs. Maybe the upcoming move to Alaska will help balance her out... That or a lobotomy...hmmm...wonder if they do those at that snip and clip joint she was at not long ago... (Oh, don't gasp in horror! If YOU knew my sister, you would be chiming in right along with me!)

Hot Off the Wire

Whoo-hooo! My delinquent sister, Gabby, made a break from prison yesterday!!! They had been holding her in solitary confinement on a chain up in Kansas City, but she made a break for it during the black of night and made it all the way down to Republic, MO late last night. She is currently hiding out with our brother, Vader. She had contacted me to see if I could hide her, but, I KNOW about aiding and abating a criminal and I sure didn't want to get pinched for harboring a fugitive, so I suggested to her that she call our brother, because, just between you and me, he isn't as smart as I am. Sure enough, it worked! He told her she was welcome to stay with him, just as long as she lays low, keeps her nose clean, and doesn't get him in trouble with HIS Spokespeople. (We'll see how THAT works out!)

Word has it that she's planning on hiding out at her brother's house until her Spokespeople leave for Alaska in six weeks. Then she's hopping a plane with them. I told her she needs to go to MEXICO to stay out of reach of the law, but she thinks Alaska is far enough out of sight. We'll see. The one thing I KNOW about Gabby is that she utterly incorrigible. We'll see how long the law up in Alaska will turn a blind eye to her wolfish ways!

(This is a photo of the three of us taken the last time we were all together--four months ago. Gabs is in the center and Vader is on the far right. Of course I am the astonishingly beautiful one in the group! Gabs and I have doubled in size since then...and Vader?...he has TRIPLED in size! He's a scary looking dude these days!)

Alaska Bound

Well...I'm just BUMMED OUT today. Sadly, it is all making sense now...my sister's sudden trip to the vet, I mean. I overheard my Spokesperson talking to her Spokesperson on the phone today. From what I could gather, Gabby is moving to ALASKA. As in NOME, ALASKA this Spring for a two year stint. She didn't even consider staying behind. She's like that. Where-ever her Spokespersons go, she thinks she has to follow. Can't believe she got stuck with Spokespeople who would up and move to ALASKA.

Gabby is all excited and happy to get to come along with them. I tried talking sense into the girl. I mean there are SLED DOGS in Nome...LOTS of them. They run in gangs and heaven help you if you are caught out in the open by them. I've heard they will all attack at once and rip you limb to limb. I can't believe Gabby is EXCITED about going. I mean I am the brave one...I am the vicious one...not sweet Gabby. I don't know what on earth has come over her.

The more I think about it, the sadder I get. She'll be gone TWO WHOLE YEARS.

...sigh.

Horrifically Scandulous!

I am not sure I can even WRITE this post. I have to admit, the shock of it all has left me a bit shaken.

You know my litter-mate, Gabby, the prissy Prima Donna one? Well, I hadn't heard from her in a few days. I didn't think anything of it. She gets on her high horse sometimes and won't write or call. You say the least little thing and she gets her feelings all hurt. I never did understand how she could be so NEEDY.

Anyway, like I said, I hadn't heard from her in a while, but I didn't think anything of it. Well, TODAY, Gabby finally called. I could not believe my ears. I don't know if I should even write about it here or not...but, maybe writing about it will help me process it...

Gabby went under the knife. She didn't even see it coming. One moment she is curled up lovingly around her Spokespeople's feet and the next moment they are driving her to some shady office out in Ten Buck Two and dumping her there. She didn't think it was such a bad place at first, but when she woke up, she found out they had SHAVED her belly. SHAVED IT! All her lovely luxurious fur that she has always been so vain over is GONE...utterly GONE...well, at least on her belly, that is. She said she didn't know what kind of slipshod clippers they had used, but they must have been pretty lousy, because they evidently got some of her skin along with her lovely fur. When she woke up, she had STITCHES in a long line up her belly. Can you believe it? I mean, I've heard of a nick here and there when a dog gets clipped, but THAT is ridiculous. The whole thing is just extremely suspicious...I mean, 1) who in their right mind EVER clips a GERMAN SHEPHERD, anyway? One of our greatest points is our utter lack of need for haircuts. We hardly require any grooming at all...as befits any serious working dog like ourselves! and 2) how weird is it that she SLEPT through the hair cut? She didn't even know she was being shaved when it happened. She just woke up feeling an ominously cold draft on her poor newly bare belly!

Poor dear. She is totally humiliated. I don't know if she will ever be able to live this one down. She told me she is going to live a life of seclusion until her fur grows back. Who can blame her? She is practically NAKED. I just can't believe her spokepeople would do something that irresponsible!

Hey, Ransom here!

Recently, my litter-mate Gabby and I spent our day honing up our search and rescue skills....you know, tracking--wind-scenting and ground scenting.

After an extraordinarily successful day of tracking, my spokesperson took this portrait of the two of us. I am the stunning one. My sister, Gabby is the lazy one that had to lay down because she was too tired to sit for this picture.
